Are Secondary Visa Applicants for NSW on Skilled (Provisional) (class VF) Subclass 475 (Skilled -Regional Sponsored) Visa Exempted from Submitting an IELTS Test Certificate?

Getting a visa in Australia can be pretty confusing as they have a number of visas made available to applicants. Having this said, visa applicants need to review what kind of visa they need to have including the requirements involved. One of the visa types one can get is the Subclass 457 or Skilled regional Sponsored Visa.

Subclass 457 visa is a three-year provisional visa. The person granted this visa requires him or her to live and work in regional Australia to qualify for permanent residence. The person should be nominated by a state or territory government or someone who will be sponsored by an Australian relative living in the state.
Requirements for the said visa are the following:

1. Age – the main applicant should be under 50 years of age on the date the application has been made.
2. Occupation – the main applicant has to have a positive skills assessment in Skilled occupation.
3. Language Fluency – the main applicant must complete an English proficiency examination like the IELTS or International English Language Testing System.
4. Recent Work Experience – it is suggested that applicants must have worked in skilled employment for at least a year in the last two years before the application.

Some visa applicants are wondering whether their secondary applicants need to take an English proficiency examination to be included in the visa application. Accordingly, any secondary visa applicant of 18 years old and above need to take the IELTS examination as well to prove their fluency in the language. An overall band score of 6 is required for the secondary visa applicant. However, there are instances that an IELTS score is not needed. Secondary visa applicants need to provide a Certificate of Medium of English from their primary, secondary, and tertiary schools from their native country. This certificate will prove that English has been the medium of instruction in school.

For some visa applicants who do not have the luxury of time to request this certificate, taking the IELTS is a good option. Reviewing for the test is a must and must be done seriously to be able to hit the target score requirement for the visa.

Getting a visa in Australia should not be a problem. One of the best ways to know which one is right for you is through consultation from immigration consultants. They can be quite an expense but it is the best way to know the right requirements and they can answer all queries regarding visa transactions.
