IELTS Registration Requirements in the Philippines

Are you planning to register for the IELTS test? Then, here is what you need to know!

As one of the most popular English proficiency exams in the world, the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination is available for all Filipinos wishing to take the exam here in the Philippines. Candidates for the test have target scores to meet as required by the companies and academic institutions they are applying for. Hence, most candidates prefer to take classes in review centers to prepare for the examination. Apart from these reviews, candidates should also learn how to register for the examination. Here is how!

For starters, the IELTS are administered by two authorized agencies – British Council and IDP. Candidates have to choose whether to register in IDP or British Council. It is best for candidates to contact the company or schools they need for the IELTS certificate on which agency they should register.

Registering online for the two agencies is possible. Online registration is easy and very convenient. All you need to have is your credit card for the payment and the following requirements.

a.       Valid ID such as passport or any government issued IDs

 

b. Soft copy of your recent photo


c. VISA or MASTERCARD



If you do not have a credit card, or you find it a little confusing to do online registration, IELTS review centers help candidates to register for the examination. All you need to do is fill out an application form together with the requirements mentioned above. In addition, candidates need to prepare an amount of P8900 for IDP registration and P8986 for British Council. 

Important reminder to candidates: always check your emails. Upon registration, provide an email address that you always use and write it clearly on the application form. Candidates are notified regarding other details of the examination through email. 

Further, candidates are advised to register for the examination as early as possible. As exam dates draw nearer, more and more people are registering for these dates. Some slots are quite limited so make sure to register early. Registering early has also benefits such as giving you more time to be prepared for the exam through intensive studying and reviewing for the examination. It is always emphasized to candidates the importance in getting a lot of exposure to IELTS activities prior to the exam. 

Prepare the documents mentioned above early and be sure to have these IDs valid until the day of your exam.
