15 Days Practice for IELTS Speaking

Do you consider yourself a good English speaker? Is your speaking skill good enough to pass an English proficiency exam?

source: http://www.embassyenglish.com/

According to a survey, Filipinos speak English very well that they are prioritized by employers overseas. This skill in speaking English puts a great advantage for Filipino’s professional career. However, there are some companies and institutions, particularly from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, which require Filipinos to take the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination – a test which Filipinos really have to get ready for.

The IELTS exam ahs four different sections: listening, reading, writing and the most dreaded speaking. Why is speaking dreaded by most candidates? The speaking section of the exam is a one-on-one interview with a native English speaker or a Filipino who has been trained to conduct speaking exams. Since it is a face-to-face examination, Filipinos often feel anxious in the test. This anxiety can consume the candidate and can have a negative effect on their speaking test.

IELTS examinees are advised to take practices for the speaking. However, is it possible to be good at speaking English within 15 days? Of course! Here’s how:

First Week

Understand what the IELTS speaking test is all about.

Know the different criteria in evaluating the speaking test (Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Pronunciation, and Grammar Range and Accuracy)

Be familiar with the three tasks of the exam.

Find the common topics usually used in the speaking test. Research on materials online that can help you with it.

Look up for videos online about the IELTS speaking test.

Second Week

Review on verb tenses which is a very important factor in the test.

Improve vocabulary.

Find someone who can help you with your speaking test. Let this person act as an examiner. Choose someone who is good at speaking English and evaluating people in terms of English usage.

Make a schedule to have at least two sets of speaking mock exams.

The speaking exam is easy to pass as long as candidates know how to make correct responses. In addition, examinees have to develop their confidence in using the English language. They have to get used to being interviewed. With this, it is recommended for IELTS candidates to take part in speaking mock exams in IELTS review centers. Speaking coaches give really good comments and feedbacks on how candidates can better their responses and eliminate anxiety during the IELTS speaking test.

Steps on How to Reschedule an IELTS Exam

“I am Melody and I have already scheduled an exam for the IELTS; however, I got a call from my boss that I need to be out of the country on the day of my exam. Is it possible to reschedule the exam day?”

There are quite a number of reasons why candidates for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test cancel or reschedule their examinations. Some of these are schedule conflicts with work, illnesses or they do not feel ready to take the examination. Candidates should know that cancellation or rescheduling of the exam is allowed; however, there are some conditions to be followed.

Candidates are always reminded to be ready for the examination – that reviewing is important and is the only secret to a successful IELTS test. Since the studying for the exam is tedious, registering  a couple of months before the exam will give more time for the candidate to be exposed on different practice materials and at the same time have a week of rest before the test. This early registration is also a benefit for candidates who want to have their exam rescheduled or cancelled.

There are a variety of reasons a candidate can use for his or her excuse in rescheduling or cancelling the exam. However, there are certain reasons that are considered valid for the British Council and IDP – two authorized agencies of the IELTS. These are the following:

Death of a family member
A serious medical condition which needs immediate treatment
Trauma or the candidate is a victim of a recent crime
Military service (applicable to other countries)
Loss of visa and government issues IDS as documents to be presented on the exam day
Visa application problems

Candidates have to provide proof, evidence or certificates to be considered valid. The rescheduling of the exam should be done five weeks before the test date. The IDP or the British Council should be notified immediately. A 25% administrative charge will be charged for the refund. Rescheduling of the examination depends on the availability of the next test date.

Candidates have to complete a “Test Day Transfer Form” and have the necessary documents to support their reason for rescheduling of the examination and send them to British Council or the IDP.

Others can also ask help from IELTS review centers regarding this matter. IELTS review centers are authorized to provide assistance to candidates in registering and even rescheduling of the examination. Contact your nearest IELTS review center for more information on this matter.

Why do Employers Require All Employees to have an IELTS Certificate?

Every university student’s dream is to graduate from the university and find a good job. Most students take their studies seriously that they allot more time with their books than socializing with friends. Many achievers prefer to be home on a weekend and get good grades in school. A good scholastic standing means a better job opportunity as soon as they step out from the realms of the university.
source: www.bowlesrice.com

After four or five years in the university, these young professionals are out on the hunt to find jobs that will provide them the experience that they need and of course, money. Though there are a lot of jobs here in the Philippines, many are still persuaded to leave the country and try their lucks in different institutions overseas. Indeed, working overseas means better salary packages and a great opportunity to have your family with you while working abroad.

In the Philippines today, a good number of working professionals are preparing their requirements to work in companies in English speaking countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and even the United States of America. These countries have a variety of job opportunities where Filipinos are highly needed because of their dedication to their work and their skills. However, most English speaking companied require an English proficiency examination. This examination is the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination.

Why do employers need the IELTS certification?

First, employers need to be sure that their employees can understand and use the English language. It would be tough if employees give instructions to their workers and these workers will just look at them blankly, dumbfounded.

Second, employers want productivity from their companies. If the worker can speak English, he or she will not have a hard time understanding his or her duties. Thus, this worker can work effectively and will result to productivity in the workplace.

Finally, employers have to be sure that there will be good communication between them and their workers. The employees will be able to talk to them, communicate with them while working in the company. If they can speak English, they will be able to speak with other employees and promote a good working environment. Further, these people will not find any problem communicating with people right outside work.

Employers require IELTS not only for their benefits but also for the applicants themselves. Their productivity and success not only lies in the company but also with their day to day activities outside their offices.  For Filipinos, reviewing for the IELTS will not be difficult since they can speak the language quite well, and they have a lot of IELTS review centers to help them pass the test.

What are the Uses of the IELTS Exam?

The International English Language Testing System examination has received a lot of test takers since different opportunities opened in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and even some parts of the United States of America. Moreover, these opportunities are very promising that more and more Filipinos want to grab this chance of being able to go overseas. We all know that the IELTS examination is an English proficiency examination; however, what exactly are the uses of the IELTS exam?

source: kabirnews.com

The IELTS examination is a measure of one’s ability to use and understand the English language. Many non-native English speakers want to know their level of fluency; hence, they choose to take the examination. Being able to know your English fluency is an advantage and will bring a lot of benefits to you – both professionally and personally.

The IELTS test is needed for students who are applying for a degree or a post-graduate course overseas. Schools need IELTS to ensure one’s success in coping with their academic performance in school. It will be very difficult for someone to study in an English speaking country if he or she has a hard time understanding the English language.

Working professionals who want to work overseas need the IELTS as a requirement. Companies have made this a requirement to check if a certain individual can work efficiently in an English-speaking work environment. He or she should be able to work well with colleagues as well through communication in the English language.

For Filipino residents to change their visa status to permanent residents in a specific country, the IELTS is also needed for their application.

For immigration, people who have taken the IELTS can use this as a proof of their language test. English-speaking countries require it to evaluate the individual’s eligibility to stay and live permanently in their country.

IELTS exam is also used in professional registration for some organizations overseas.

In some countries, the IELTS is used to evaluate literacy of students.

For scholarship grants overseas, an IELTS score is also a needed requirement.

IELTS is also used for teacher education courses in some countries.

Some universities also use the IELTS in investigating language proficiency of international students.

People may have different purposes in taking the IELTS but its use can be any of the one mentioned above. For Filipinos, the most common use of the IELTS is for work, study, and immigration. Taking the IELTS is a huge challenge; a rigid training for the test should be practiced. Take time to organize and manage time as a start in preparing for the IELTS examination.

What are the Differences between the TOEFL Speaking and IELTS Speaking Tests?

Have you experienced delivering a speech in front of an audience? Have you talked in front of someone that gave you cold feet?

source: www.sheknows.com

Speaking exams are sure to be very nerve racking. However, different English proficiency examinations have different styles in setting up their speaking examinations. Like with the two most popular English proficiency exams here in Philippines, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) have the most challenging speaking examinations.

The TOEFL and the IELTS are different in many ways. For starters, TOEFL and IELTS use different materials to be able to administer an examination. The TOEFL uses English in its academic context while IELTS is more on social setting. What are the other differences? Here is what you should know about the differences of the test, particularly the speaking section of both examinations.

Test Administration
Since TOEFL is a computer-based examination, the candidates will have to answer questions which are already fed into the cache system. They are given a few seconds to prepare followed by a response. The response will then be recorded and uploaded to the cache servers. The IELTS will have a native-English speaker evaluate someone during the examination. Follow-up questions are given that promotes an active discussion between the interviewee and the interviewer.

Tasks
The IELTS have three tasks on any social topic like history, family, education, history and many more while the TOEFL speaking test have six different tasks: two independent and four integrated ones. In the TOEFL, it is very academic that having the right notes and vocabulary will make the test easier.

Physical setup
Candidates for the IELTS are facing their interviewer while TOEFL test takers only need to sit in front of the computer and listen to pre-recorded conversations. TOEFL workstations most of the time look like an internet café that makes responding to the questions a little awkward as other people can hear you.

Duration
The speaking test in the TOEFL runs for about thirty to forty-five minutes. In the IELTS, the speaking interview will only take fifteen minutes – fast yet really challenging.

Style
The IELTS is more on an open conversation while the TOEFL is academic. In the IELTS, most students are led into good conversations between them and the interviewer. This is a good chance for the candidate to hit the answers to the questions correctly. The TOEFL is academic that what candidates have to practice taking down notes, gathering thoughts in a limited time and giving responses in within or less than a minute.

These are basically the differences between the two English exams. Know more about them with your review centers.

Requirements for Bridging Course for Nurses in Australia

I am Stephanie and I am wondering about this bridging course I need to take in Australia. Is my Philippine license as a nurse not sufficient enough to work in Australia as a nurse?”

Nurses are in high demand in Australia. According to a news report, Australia will be experiencing shortage of nursing professionals by ten to fifteen years; hence, they need more applicants to fill these job vacancies.

The need for a bridging program for Philippine nurses in Australia is a way of making them certified that their skills in their field is at par with the skills of nurses who studied in Australia. Bridging programs will help Filipino nurses undergo first-hand experience on how to practice their profession in Australian standards resulting in gaining more knowledge about their chosen field of expertise.  ETEA or Education, Training and Employment Australia is a registered training organisation approved by the National Board to deliver the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses program for Registered Nurses (IRON-RN).

a. Documents from the Philippine Regulatory Commission to be sent from AHPRA which includes (1) board certificate and (2) certificate of good standing

b. Documents from your college of nursing to AHPRA including (1) transcript of records (2) summary of Related Learning Experience (3) number of hours in nursing theory and (4) certificate of English as Medium of Instruction or an IELTS score of 7.0.

c. Other documents like passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, NBI clearance, seminars and trainings attended, employment certificate, updated resume and recommendation letters from two Registered Nurse staff

Once the letter is given, the enrolment to a particular school can be processed. Candidates should be able to present a certificate of employment of at least a year from their work experience, a valid Australian visa, and immunisation requirements for health workers. It is said that an IELTS score or the International English Language Testing System examination certification needs to be presented. Candidates need to get a score of 7.0 in the Academic module to be eligible for the program. Since getting a 7.0 can be a little challenging, enrolling in IELTS training programs is highly recommended.

There are a lot of Filipino nurses nowadays who are registered in IELTS review programs in the country. They are doing this for both the APHRA’s requirement and the requirement of the bridging school they are applying for. Filipino nurses should work harder in honing their English skills as they need this score badly to lodge their applications.

Tips on How to Pass the IELTS General Training Reading Test

There have been speculations that the reading test for the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination is the most difficult part of the test. Some may agree with this while other would say that all you need is practice to get a good score in the reading test.

The reading test’s content is different in both the Academic and the General Training modules of the IELTS. Quite a number of candidates who took the General Training test say that the reading test is challenging but with the right training and practice, acquiring the target score is very possible. With this, how can one pass the IELTS General Training Reading Section?

Build a good vocabulary. Test takers will be saving much time if they can understand a vocabulary without taking a long time figuring out what could it mean. In addition, with better and strong vocabulary, choosing the right answer will not be a problem as one can identify synonymous terms in the questions asked.

Once you do not know what the answer is to a specific question, mark it and move on to the next one. Do not spend too much time guessing. Answer the other questions and go back to that question if you still have time.

Always read instructions carefully. There are times that we overlook instructions, and as a result, we choose the wrong answers. Understand the question carefully before deciding on an answer.

Know how to eliminate answers. Some answers look right and the same with the other options. Read them carefully and remove options that are irrelevant or false. Doing this narrows down your choices.

Learn the skill of skimming and scanning. There are times that the passage is too long that you need to browse through it to take note of the gist of the passage and the details in the passage. Skimming and scanning make this easier.

Manage your time while reading and answering. Always check on how much time you have. Prioritize reading passages that seem easier over the more difficult ones.

Do mock exams for the reading test. Mock exams are available in IELTS review centers. These review centers have programs designed to educate candidates for the IELTS about the exam. Mentors will be teaching skills and providing activities that will hone the skills of these candidates.

These tips are easy and very useful. The most important tip in the IELTS reading is the exposure to reading practices of the candidate. It is important for candidates to know the different types of questions along with the skills they need not only to get a good score for the test but also respond to questions easily and correctly.

What Type of IELTS Exam Should I Take?

One common problem for people who are taking the IELTS is whether they need the Academic or the General Training module of the examination. There are people who cannot decide on which to take for they do not know any information about the test. What they should be doing is checking on the agency or to the visa requirements indicated in the country’s immigration website. To give a general idea on which module to take, here is a little information about the two modules of the IELTS examination.

The Academic Module

The Academic module of the IELTS is generally designed for those individuals who are planning at a tertiary level in an English speaking country. For example, if a certain individual wants to pursue his or her education overseas, an IELTS Academic score is needed. How is this different from the other examination? Basically, the difference is the content of the reading and the writing sections. Reading passages are longer and more complicated, and the writing tasks are more serious and difficult. Taking an Academic is pretty tough that reviewing for the test is a must.

The General Training Module

For individuals who want to do work experience or those who are to undergo training programs, people who want to study in a secondary school or migrate to other English speaking country, a good score from the General Training is needed. Mentioned above to have a difference between the Academic and the General Training, this test has easier reading section as passages are shorter and less complicated to understand. The writing tasks are easier as the topics are more familiar and easier to write.

Looking at the test, their purpose and the content (in reading and writing) are the two major differences. Talking about their fees, they are just the same. However, if you are someone who is enrolling in an IELTS review center, it is best to choose the program on the specific type of module you are taking. Some activities are designed for Academic students that would make it hard for General Training module students understanding. This means that upon enrolment, the student should be able to know which type of test to enrol in to avoid wasting money and time as well.

Being with IELTS centers do not mean waste of money or time. With the specialized review program schedules, possible candidates can take a pick on which time they feel most comfortable in reviewing. Students should remember that they have different times of the day they feel best for studying. Follow this pattern and get good results for the IELTS examination.

What Does the TOEFL Exam Setup Looks Like?

The growing number of people taking English proficiency examinations has been increasing for the past years. This is a clear indication that more and more Filipinos have found great opportunities for them overseas. English proficiency tests are major requirement for non-native English speakers, like Filipinos, when they wish to work, study or stay for good in other countries. One of these tests being taken by many Filipinos is the TOEFL or the Test of English as a Foreign Language.

There are a lot of people who are still clueless on how the test looks like – the detail on its sections, the physical layout of the test center and other information that will make them informed for the test. Having said this, let us have a short yet detailed overview of the TOEFL test.

As a computer-based test, candidates will have to make use of computers to finish the examination. Most of the time, test centers are like internet shops where people are divided by cubicles for the test. The test administrators will be checking the examinees from time to time to check if they need something or have troubles in using the computer for the test. Now, what can candidates expect from the test itself?

First, every candidate should know that the TOEFL is an academic English test. Most topics covered are subjects in school which makes it a bit easier since the topic could be anything from the different fields of knowledge in the academic context.

Reading passages pose a little threat of difficulty with their content. Any topics can be used; hence, there are a lot of students who think that the reading should be practiced most of the time, and improving one’s vocabulary is a good start. Second, candidates are going to listen to a lecture or a conversation on an academic topic. The trick is getting the right main idea and the details of these to be able to answer questions after listening to the audio recording. After these two sections, the candidate is given a ten-minute mandatory break before starting the second half: speaking and writing.

The speaking test is divided into independent and integrated tasks. Candidates have to give responses in a very limited time. They have to think of good points along with strong reason to support their ideas. The writing is a showcase of how well one integrates an idea from a reading and lecture, and an opinion-based question for the second task. Once the test is finished, the candidate can leave the workstation provided scratch papers are left behind.

The TOEFL test’s challenge is the vocabulary in the test. Since it is academic, there would be words that are difficult to understand and even use in the sentence. With this, it is very important for a candidate to study and even join TOEFL review classes to prepare themselves not only academically but also mentally, emotionally and even physically.

What Does the IELTS Exam Setup Looks Like?

Ever wondered how the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System exam goes like?

Many candidates of the IELTS are often bewildered with the idea of having to take the said examination. Honestly, there are quite a big number of IELTS candidates who do not know anything about the IELTS test. All they know is that working, studying or immigrating to countries overseas like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and even the United States of America needs an IELTS certification.  Candidates did not know that one secret in achieving a good score in the test is knowing the setup of this examination. Let us find out the setup of the IELTS test.

For starters, the IELTS is a paper-based examination. It is divided into two different modules: the Academic and General Training modules. The only different in content in both tests is the speaking and reading sections. The examination has four different sections: the reading, listening, speaking and writing. In the reading section of the examination, test takers should prepare themselves in reading passages from different materials. There could be excerpts from books, novels, articles, announcements, and even academic topics. The candidate should be able to develop skills such as skimming and scanning.

The listening passage will test how good the individual is in listening to details and the gist of an audio passage. Audio recordings can be conversations between two people, a person arranging events, or even a tourist guide giving instructions in a tour. What the candidate should know is how to listen carefully to details – even those seem to be unimportant details. With the speaking test, candidates have to sit in front of a native English speaker and be asked questions on different topics. The evaluation is right on the spot; hence, a lot have experienced cold feet during this test.

Finally, candidates need to show how well they can compose a letter, a graph interpretation or their own opinion on a statement in the writing section. They have to come up with an essay that will answer the given task and be supported with points that are strong enough for the claims in the essay.

On the day of the exam, candidates are placed in a room. Everyone should take the exam at the same time. They are monitored by representatives from British Council or IDP – authorized agencies of the IELTS test. Every candidate is watched carefully from start to finish of the exam to ensure the quality and the reliability of the examination.

My Experiences During the TOEFL Exam

It has been a year since I last took my TOEFL test but the feeling seemed like yesterday. Honestly, I really had a hard time preparing for my TOEFL test. It was my boss who asked me to get a TOEFL certificate for it was needed for a scholarship offered by the company for me. Since it was good for my career, I just followed what I was told to, not knowing of how difficult the exam was. I read some blogs online on how to prepare for the test but I thought that reading this stuff was not enough.

Going to the bookstore was not much of a help either. I was in the middle of choosing this book over another. I thought buying one is enough as the content would just be the same. Surprisingly, the price of the book cost me quite a few pesos. Reading the book was a little helpful until I saw a friend recommended studying in a review center. Good thing the review center had available classes at night, so I joined their TOEFL program.

I had difficulty adjusting the first week of the review. The concept of the exam was explained so is the flow of the exam and the techniques for it. As weeks passed, I immediately got the “style” in answering the test until I was endorsed for the examination.

Now, I would like to tell you how similar the questions are from the reviews I had with my review center.

The reading was difficult with different academic topics covered. I was surprised to read about Dadaism which we practiced in class. Hence, I did not have a hard time understanding the passage for I had a little background on the topic. Choosing the answers was not as difficult as I thought for I was taught how in my review class.

The one thing I am thankful for in my review class is that my note-taking skills have totally improved. In the listening test, I was able to come up with good notes and they were organized as well. I did not have a hard time finding details because of my notes were actually almost perfect.
The speaking was challenging. With a little time to prepare, I made outline of my answers in words and not in sentences. This was taught by my coach and I was able to give good responses with strong details. The integrated tasks were not that difficult too as I was able to understand the reading and the listening passages.

I am happy that I had TOEFL grammar classes. Writing essays became a breeze. I was able to outline my answer before writing them. It indeed saved time and organized the flow of my ideas. Further, with the correct transition words, my essay was written very well and I got the score that I expected. Thanks to my mentors who guided me for the test.

The TOEFL test can be easy once you know how to respond to its tasks appropriately. The secret? Join TOEFL course programs and attend classes as often as possible.

My Experiences During the IELTS Exam

It took me three months to review for the IELTS examination. I needed the IELTS as a requirement for my student visa in Australia. While preparing for the examination, I asked friends whether I should study alone or be in a review center. Most of them took the exam in the previous year and all of them went to a review center. With their best advice given, I enrolled in a review center three months prior to my examination.

Reviewing was not easy at first. During the orientation, I was quite surprised to know that about the flow of the examination, most especially the speaking test. I was a little apprehensive; however, I did not have any choice for I was in need of an IELTS certification. The first month was more of an adjustment. I never thought English could be as difficult as that. The other two months were already okay as I was able to cope with the pace in the classes and I myself knew I was getting better and better until the day of the exam arrived.

I would like to tell you how my review became helpful during the IELTS examination.
First, I had my speaking test in the late afternoon. I was told by my mentors to be at the testing center early and dress appropriately for the event. I arrived an hour earlier and I should say it really had the advantage for I felt relaxed and comfortable before I was called. During the speaking test, I was happy to find the questions similar to my speaking tests. I felt so prepared and I should say I spoke very spontaneously. The interview was smooth and I could see the interviewer was having fun during the interview.

My reading test was a little difficult though. However, thanks to my teachers who taught me skimming and scanning, I was able to finish my reading test fifteen minutes before it ended. Like in the mock tests, the passages were lengthy and vocabulary was really challenging. Choosing the answers was quite easy as I learned some techniques like elimination from my mentors.

The listening test was not much of a problem. I was always good at listening during my reviews. I was able to take down notes with ease and without any problems. Moreover, I was able to understand the lecture without having a problem.  The training I had in the review center was really worth the time and money.

Finally, the writing, which I felt the hardest, gave me a great challenge. I was given a bar graph to answer. Luckily, I remembered vocabulary and the pattern in writing during my reviews. I was able to make an outline first and write my essay in no time. Like I said, the reviews really paid off.

My friends were right. Reviewing with review centers really prepare candidates for the IELTS test. I was not that surprised with the flow of the test for I was prepared.

Effective Tips on How to Interpret a Diagram in the IELTS Writing

Have you ever been asked to interpret a diagram? Have you found it to be easy or really challenging?
Interpreting diagrams is known to be one of the types of questions in the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System writing test. This is the first task of the said writing test in the Academic module of the test. The Academic module is already famous for its challenging questions and this diagram interpretation is one of the many difficult tasks for the candidates to take.

A diagram type of question can be a picture showing charts or processes. Candidates need to closely study the diagram and outline points that he or she has to include in the writing. Let’s have an example:

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The diagram below shows the process of using water to produce electricity.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words

How to write a response based on this diagram?

1. Make sure that you have a clearly stated introduction. In general, describe what is being shown in the diagram.
2. List down all the necessary vocabulary you need to use in describing the picture. Choose the right vocabulary to clearly show what is in the picture.
3. Since the example show how electricity is possible through hydropower, show what happens in every stage in the diagram.
4. Processes should be written in an organized way. Clearly show that B happens because of A and so on.
5. Use transition words to show what is happening.
6. Use verb tenses that will describe the process. In this case, the present tenses are useful.
7. Make use of the passive form of the verb. The passive form of the verb is used when the subject of your sentences is the receiver of the action. As you can see on the picture, the focus on the activities.
8. Be sure to describe the equipment of objects involved in the process.
9. Create separate paragraphs to describe each stage of the process.
10. Check on your spelling and use of punctuations.

Sample response:

The diagram shows the production of electricity using water. This process is also known as generation of hydroelectric power.

Both the sun and the wind play a crucial part in this process. The heat of the sun warms up sea water. As it evaporates, it forms clouds in the atmosphere. With the help of the wind, the clouds are blown towards reservoirs. As the clouds get heavier and bigger, rain happens. This rain water is collected in dams or reservoirs.

When the dam is filled with water, a valve is open to let water move towards a turbine in an underground man-made tunnel. As water flows in the turbine, it generates electricity. The water that has been generating water in the turbine returns back to dam through an underground pump. This electricity flows in high voltage cable to transformer stations. From these stations, the electricity stored is distributed to houses, schools, or any facilities connected through the wires.

The process diagram is easy once you come up with an outline showing the step-by-step flow of the diagram. Hence, the best thing to do is to write an outline for your essay before doing the writing.
